The infamous Berghain of Berlin is opening its doors as a temporary art space to host an exhibition Studio Berlin that will feature artists including Wolfgang Tillmans, Olafur Eliasson, Tacita Dean, and Isa Genzken.

The nightclub which has the most strict and unpredictable door policy was long secluded for the likes of “normal people”. Now the venue will welcome everyone interested in the exhibit, even “grandmas with zimmer frames and children” says art collector Christian Boros. “For three months during the confinement period, we were speaking to artists on the phone every day. We wanted to show this incredible artistic production. Berlin was frozen, so why not think differently? Why not work together?”

The 3500 sq.m nightclub space is nicely suited for Studio Berlin, which will span photography, sculpture, painting, video, sound, performance, and installation, and it will be open for visitors via guided tours, even the darkest of rooms.
